Nah, the Chicago Cubs' name was ruined by the way the Trib has been.

Yeah...something like that.

Oh and if the game tonight turns out as boring as the football game some heads are gonna roll.

Haha, well I think the Trib should have fired Hendry a while ago but they didn't. That definitely wasn't meant as me bashing the Cubs but as their lack of success at running the Cubs seemed to hurt their name. Also I wrote all this before I saw that they were sold for 8.2 bil. Wow. So maybe it was for ONLY monetary reasons ;X

And agreed. At least we have baseball to watch tho if the game sucks, or ladies college ball.. ... ... or paint drying.

Of course not man, I know what you meant ;D Although I must admit, I don't understand how 8.2 billion dollars is involved in that.

Ladies college ball, there's an oxymoron for the ages. ;P

Aaaaand the college game sucked. I didn't care who won one way or the other but I had hoped there would be a little more drama than there was. As for the 8.2 billion dollars .. ya got me. I guess they figure even after having the 2nd worst record in the majors, Cubs fans will go to the games no matter what. That's income but I still don't understand where the billions came from either. I'm thinking/hoping ESPN worded something incorrectly because last I checked NONE of the teams were worth a bil.

coolest: disgusting disgusting disgusting :\ Can't win em all I guess.

Tribune Co. has accepted a buyout offer from real estate investor Sam Zell in a deal valued at about $8.2 billion, the media company said Monday.

Yeah I dunno.

Is it possible that he's buying Wrigley Field along with the team?

I still don't see how that would make up 7.5 billion dollars but it would help.

Holy up! Wait a minute! The cubs are being sold for 8.2 billion.....you've got to be fucking me?!

I could see Wrigley Field being sold at an outrageous price, just for the fact that it's Wrigley Field, but DAMN!

That could be it. I'm not sure tho, 7+ bil for a stadium is still ridiculous. The new Yankee Stadium is only going to cost a billion to make and it's going to have all sorts of high tech shit in it.

thejedisilentbob: Fucking agreed. I still need to get tickets to a Yankee game at Yankee Stadium so that I can piss on it once before they tear it down. Also so that I can scribble YANKEES SUCK on the wall with a sharpie.

feenix: I tried installing a captcha plugin but it didn't work for some reason. I don't know wtf else to do about it. I might just get rid of the forums period since nobody uses them.
